Minnesota Warrant Records Minnesota Warrant Records

Minnesota Warrant Records is a private reference site, not a government contact point. This page routes questions about Minnesota court files and warrant status to the District Court, the relevant county Sheriff’s Office, or the state agency that holds the data.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We are not connected with the Minnesota Judicial Branch, BCA, or a county Sheriff’s Office. We cannot confirm an active warrant, recall or clear one, accept bond, arrange a surrender, or advise you about a case. Contact the issuing District Court or the relevant county law-enforcement agency for an official response.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Choose the record holder that fits the question. Minnesota has one District Court system across its ten judicial districts; there is no separate municipal-court warrant channel.

  • Public court case information: use Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO) for many public case records. MCRO is not a public statewide search of active warrants; records may be limited or unavailable online.
  • Whether a warrant is active: contact the District Court’s County Court Administration for the court file, then follow its direction to the relevant county Sheriff’s Office or other agency. Use the county directory to locate the county-level Sheriff’s Office.
  • A missed court date or bench warrant: ask the District Court location handling the case. County Court Administration maintains the court file; the county directory identifies the county context for finding local offices.
  • Resolving a warrant: speak with a Minnesota attorney and the issuing court about the case-specific options and process. A Sheriff’s Office can explain its role in execution or custody, but it cannot change the court’s order.
  • Public data held by BCA or a county agency: request information from that agency’s data-practices contact under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. Access depends on the data classification; a request does not provide public access to the restricted criminal-justice warrant system.
  • How warrant systems work: read our Minnesota warrant system overview for the difference between public court records and restricted agency data.

The correct contact depends on which agency holds the record. Minnesota Court Records Online can help locate some public case information, but an online result is not current warrant confirmation. Ask the issuing District Court about the court file and the relevant Sheriff’s Office or other law-enforcement agency about its status information. There is no public statewide name-search portal for all active Minnesota warrants.
